Web Widget: Embedded Calling Widget

Displays an embedded call widget into a web page that will initiate a call to a user extension. 

  1. Login to Aptela as the Admin
  2. Click on the My Account tab in the main navigation
  3. Click on the button to "Create a Web Widget"
  4. Select the Embedded option
  5. Select the Destination Type
    Do you want the widget to call a user extension, department extension or call into a specific auto attendant?
  6. Then, select the actual extension*
  7. The wizard will then display code that you will copy and paste into your website
NOTES:
1- *You can only embed one calling widget per web page
2- If you choose Auto Attendant as a destination, you will be asked to select a user extension to associate the minutes with for billing.
3- This widget is designed to enable domestic calling only. The widget will not connect an international call.

KNOWN BUGS:
May 2010:  Customers report onging issues with IE7 - where IE7 presents a blocked content warning when using the calling script. If the user selects to allow the blocked content, the script will present the affirming dialog box. If the user does not allow the blocked content, IE7 will not present the warning box again the future and will prevent the user from utilizing the calling widget in the future.
IE8, Firefox, Chrome and Safari do not present this issue.
