The fax status will help you confirm whether your fax was sent or not. The status can be viewed from your web account. If you are setup to receive fax notifications, Aptela will email you a copy of the fax transmission status shortly after the fax is sent.
Faxes that are successfully sent will read a “Sent” status, while faxes that could not be sent will display “Failed”. Failed fax transmissions are automatically retried twice, for a total of 3 transmissions. In some cases, the fax may not go through for a variety of reasons including a busy signal, static on the line, no answer, or the receiving fax machine has run out of paper.
To check the status:
- Go to your History in your user account once you have sent the virtual fax.
- Then click on the Faxes tab. The history list will display all faxes for the extension.
- Look in the Status column for the transmission status.
- If the fax failed to send, click on the fax and the error reason will display to the right in the Fax Details box.
