Counterpath X-Lite 4.x Configuration Guide

To use X-Lite 4.0 with Aptela, Aptela developed a step-by-step congifuration guide:  Download now.

Counterpath's X-Lite 4.0 delivers voice calls, video calls and Instant Messaging in a simple interface. The latest release provides a completely redesigned interface that allows for a contact-centric or dialpad-centric user experience, or a combination of the two.

For detailed system requirements and support issues related to the Counterpath X-Lite softphone, please visit the Counterpath website.  Because computer and network environments are completely different for each potential user, Aptela cannot provide detailed computer and network troubleshooting and support.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
  1. X-Lite 3.0 users, we highly recommend that you upgrade to Counterpath's X-Lite 4.0 version.
  2. X-Lite 3.0 does not support Windows 7 or Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

  4. Headsets - You will need a USB compatible, two-plug headset to use with the softphone.  Click here to review the softphone headsets offered by Aptela.

X-Lite 3.x will not install on Windows 7.

Windows 7 *does* have capabilities for using “compatibility” modes. When trying to do so, X-Lite will still not install correctly. Windows rejects the hooks being injected by X-Lite 3.x.

This appears to be the same issue with trying to install X-Lite 3.x in Mac OS X 10.6.x (Snow Leopard) except that Mac OS X doesn’t have the “compatibility” mode.

I have not tried X-Lite 4.x as it’s still in beta. When it’s no longer in beta, I’ll be more than happy to try it out.
