The virtual fax I received was poor in image quality

A poor line quality usually causes faxes to appear blurred or distorted.  This happens because excess “noise” interferes with the fax data being transmitted. Our fax printer drives produce the best image they can with what they've been "given" by the sending fax machine.

Typically, a poor quality fax will arrive with:

  • Missing text on part or majority of the page.
  • “Squished” text, pages and/or images.
  • Segmented sentences, paragraphs and/or images.

Unfortunately, phone line quality issues are beyond our control and may be impossible to troubleshoot. However, if many of your faxes from different senders are appearing with poor quality, please submit a technical support ticket via our Support page and include the date and time of the fax(es) in question, the fax number the sender was faxing to, and the sender’s fax number.

Did you know?

Below are other cases that may cause you to think the fax was poor quality.  You will need to contact the sender to resolve these matters.

  • The sender used small font or a light color, making the fax hard to read.
  • Vertical lines appear on the fax (this usually indicates that the scanner on the sender’s fax machine needs to be cleaned).
  • The sender sent a poor quality document.
