Aptela has long been committed to the protection of customer privacy. You can review details of our practices in our General Privacy Policy at http://www.aptela.com/misc/privacy-policy/. In addition, we comply with federal laws regarding the protection of customer account information. Federal law characterizes this type of information as “Customer Proprietary Network Information” or CPNI.
At Aptela, we refer CPNI in two ways:
“Account information” - information about an account’s service and use of those services as well as general billing information.
“Account changes” - requested changes to the account which materially impact feature/functionality and that change account billings.
Identity Verification
When calling into Aptela support or submitting requests via the internet, Aptela representatives will verify that the requestor is an authority for the account. This verification is done through authenticating the administrator security question answer. Aptela will not disclose information or make account changes without verifying the security answer.
Notifications of Certain Account Changes
In addition to identity verification, Aptela will notify the account admin of certain account changes. For example, whenever the administrator creates or deletes users, Aptela will notify the admin via email. Billing information will also be sent directly to the admin email.
The “authorized administrator email” is listed in the account’s admin portal and is managed by the account.
Questions or Comments
Aptela takes seriously our obligation to protect customer information. Our compliance with the rules recently enacted by the FCC is a continuation of our long-standing practice.
