What Is a CDR? How Do I Order CDRs?

A Call Detail Record (CDR) is a data record that contains all billing events. The events include information related to a telephone call:  the origination and destination addresses of the call, the date and time of the call, the duration of the call, the call completion status and the usage charge for the call. The CDRs reflect billable minutes. For billing purposes, all calls are billed at a minimum of 30 seconds. After the first 30 seconds, we use 6 second routing. [
Example 1:  A caller hangs up after 5 seconds. Actual minutes will report 00:00:05 seconds while billable minutes will report 00:00:30 seconds.

Example 2:  A phone conversation lasts 9 minutes and 26 seconds. Actual minutes will report 00:009:26 where billable minutes will report 00:009:30 for this call.

CDRs are created on the 1st of each month and present all call activity in the prior month.

Almost all of the information available in the CDR is also available real-time via the Aptela web portal selecting the Reports tab. The difference between the two reports is that the application will present actuall usage, not billable usage (as defined above) and will not display usage charges for the calls.

To receive a CDR for a specific month, simply send your request to billing through our online form. Click here to send your request.
