About Porting Process

Watch an 8 minute video tutorial about the porting process by clicking here.

The porting process begins after your Aptela account is active and able to receive calls. To begin the process, complete two forms:
Send the two forms plus a copy of a recent phone bill from your current provider to aptelaports@vocalocity.com.

Within 3 days, you will receive email confirmation from Aptela indicating the receipt of your documentation, along with the request for any additional information. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 3 business days of your sending the documentation, or if you have questions or need assistance, please send an email to aptelaports@vocalocity.com.

An Aptela representative will send updates via email, including confirmation of the port due date, the port completion, and/or any additional information requests. The porting process can take up to 6 weeks to complete (Note: Every time your provider rejects the porting request due to the incomplete or inaccurate information, the timeframe for the process starts over).

If you have questions or need help with the porting process, send an email to aptelaports@vocalocity.com.

Important Information

  1. If your porting request is rejected by your current provider, the customer must resolve any discrepancies with your current provider. Aptela cannot act on the your behalf.
  2. The porting process begins AFTER your Aptela account is active for billing and calling because if the number ports and the account is not live, the ported number may be lost and unable to be retrieved.
  3. Existing Caller ID and 411: Caller ID and Directory Assistance (411) services do not carry over when the number is ported.
  4. After the confirmed porting date is received from your current provider, the porting request cannot be cancelled.
  5. Each new account receives two free ports. Additional porting requests are billed at $14.99/per number. Charges will be applied upon port completion.
