How Do I Have Voicemail Sent to Email?

User's and department's voicemails can be sent to one or more email inboxes when using the Aptela voicemail box.  Users are automatically setup for "voicemail notification" when their extension is created--voicemails are sent to the email address used to create the extension.

To send voicemails to email inboxes:

    Users
    1. Log into my.aptela.com.
    2. Click My Account at the top of the page.
    3. Click the Notifications tab.
    4. Check the box for Enable voicemail notifications.
    5. Enter your email address or modify the current address in the Send notification to field. Separate multiple addresses with a comma.

    Departments
    1. Log into my.aptela.com.
    2. Go to the department's settings.
    3. Click the Notifications tab.
    4. Check the box for Enable voicemail notifications.
    5. Enter your email address or modify the current address in the Send notification to field. Separate multiple addresses with a comma.

    Notes:

    • When you receive new voicemails, Aptela will send you the message as an attachment via email. To ensure delivery of emails, please add notifications@aptela.com to your safe sender's list.
    • Keep as new determines if your voicemails will show up as “new” in the web account.  [For Polycom and Cisco users, it also determines if your MWI (Message Waiting Indicator) light will flash.]  If you rely on email notification to manage your voicemails, you may want to uncheck this box.  However, if you prefer to access voicemails from the online account (or have your MWI flash), you should keep the box checked.  In either case, your voicemails will be accessible and downloadable via the web account.
