Dial * + extension
Example: *101
This dials the extension. If the extension is a user, it will ring that user's Find Me List. For departments, conferences, and other extensions, it will ring the extension like any inbound call.
Extension to Deskphone
Dial 1 + * + extension
Example 1*101
This dials direct to the user's default deskphone, ignoring the Find Me List. If there is no deskphone assigned to the user or if your 1* dial to a department, conference or other extension, you will hear a fast busy.
Please note: Because the Find Me List is not used, if the user doesn't pick up, you will not be routed to their voicemail.
Extension Page (Intercom)
Dial 2 + * + extension
Example: 2*101
Similar to 1*, this option directly connects to the deskphone's speaker. This only works on supported Polycom and Cisco (SPA 300 and SPA 500 series) phones. If you 2* dial a department extension, all department members will hear a beep and then their phone will auto-answer with the speakerphone engaged.
Voicemail Access
Dial 8 + *
From your deskphone, dial 8* to access voicemail. You will be prompted for your PIN, unless you have enabled "Trust for Voicemail" in your account voicemail preferences.
To access another voicemail box, press 8* plus the extension of the other box. You will then be prompted for the PIN. This is useful to access department voicemail boxes or your voicemail from another user's phone.
Tip: Department Managers can access department voicemail from your own voicemail box. You will also be notified of new voicemails by the Message Waiting Indicator light on your Polycom phone.
